ASMSU Recreational Sports & Fitness

Table Tennis (Singles & Doubles) Nov. 3-7 Nov. 10

Faculty/Staff are eligible for all Intramural Sports. (Note: must have gym membership to participate in Intramural events held indoors.)

Group Fitness:
The Group Fitness Classes schedule changed on October, 20th.

Try our new class Old School and Then Some. Remember when (or maybe you don’t) classes were packed with fun-filled floor aerobics, then we moved on to the step for an added thrill? Step back to old school and step forward with your cardio challenge. “THEN SOME” at times we add something different like drumming, kickboxing, or resistance training. Guaranteed fun along with fitness…what more could you ask for?

Group fitness classes require a $30 semester pass available at the Recreational Sports and Fitness office. This pass allows for unlimited access to all fitness classes for the semester. Go to www.montana.edu/getfit for a full schedule and class descriptions.

Classes/Workshops:

Swimming Skills: Beginner and Intermediate Swimmers
Beginner: November 11 and 13 at 4:00 p.m.
Focus: Intro to freestyle, streamlining proper breathing technique, kick work.

Intermediate/Advanced: November 11 and 13 at 5:00 p.m.
Focus: Refining freestyle, intro to breast and back strokes, intro to flip and open turns.

Workshops are FREE! Sign-up at the Rec. Sports and Fitness Office.

Personal Trainer Seminars
Nov. 10 from 5:00 p.m.-5:30
Nov. 17 from 5:00 p.m.-5:30
Seminars will introduce: How to become a certified personal trainer, how much preparation time is needed, resources you should have, upcoming prep courses in the spring semester. Seminars are FREE will meet at the Rec. Sports and Fitness Office. Please call 580-7987 with any questions.

Strength and Stability
Wed., Nov. 19 at 1:00 p.m.
Learn how to: effectively incorporate an unstable surface into your workout, prevent injury with proper form. Exercises will incorporate core stabilization while performing dynamic movements. Weight Lifting Competition
Sign-up Oct. 27-Nov. 21 at Rec. Sports and Fitness Office.
Event held on Monday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 25 in the Fitness Center Weight Area at 7:00 p.m.. Weigh-Ins are from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24 by the Rec. Sports and Fitness Office. Event will be supervised by personal trainers. Multiple weight classes available for registration. Lifts include: Bench, Incline, Squat and Dead Lift.
