The College of Arts and Architecture is comprised of the School of Architecture, the School of Art, the School of Film and Photography (formerly Department of Media and Theater Arts), and the Department of Music. The College is also home to Shakespeare in the Parks, a professional theatre outreach performance company.

The College offers many degree options at the undergraduate level, and graduate degrees in Architecture, Fine Art, and Science and Natural History Filmmaking.

College Highlights:

  • School of Film and Photography graduate students from the Science and Natural History Filmmaking program won a Webby Award, the leading international honor for the web for their website, www.lifeonterra.com.
  • Professor Ferd Johns (School of Architecture) was named one of the top architecture professors in the country by the Association for the Collegiate Schools of Architecture.
  • Two graphic design students from the School of Art have been awarded cash prizes and internships by The Society of Publication Designers in New York City after submitting projects in the Student Design Competition. Allison McLean will be interning with Marie Claire and Beau Foor with Men's Health.
  • Greg Edwards (School of Film and Photography), a 2007 MPVT graduate, was hired for one of the highly competitive Academy of Television Arts &  Sciences Internships this summer.
  • Kyle Eaton (School of Film and Photography) was named "Best Director" and the film CASE AND CROWBAR won the "Best Acting" award for an ensemble at the National Undergraduate Collegiate Film Festival hosted by Columbia University in NYC in April 2007.
  • Adjunct Professor Eric Funk (Department of Music) was selected as one of three winners of the 2007 President's Excellence in Teaching Award.
  • Terry Beaubois, Director of the Creative Research Lab, was featured in "Alternate Universe," an article in Newsweek International, which can be viewed online at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19876812/site/newsweek.
